To Our Illinois Policyholders Impacted by the July 12, 2017 Storms and Subsequent Flooding of Waterways in Cook, Kane, Lake and McHenry Counties

On July 17, 2017, Governor Bruce Rauner declared Cook, Kane, Lake and McHenry counties state disaster areas.

To help provide safeguards for consumers and to ensure that Illinois consumers affected by this disaster do not suffer unnecessary hardship, Founders and other insurance companies will not enforce cancellation and non-renewal notices for affected policyholders in Cook, Kane, Lake and McHenry counties on existing policies for the period of time beginning on July 17, 2017 until September 30, 2017.

During this period, any cancellation or non-renewal notice issued on or after July 12, 2017 on any in-force policy issued to an affected policyholder or respecting affected property shall be withdrawn and the insurance policy will be reinstated with no lapse in coverage.
